Who are these guys?

Eric King and The Thin Line

Eric King - Guitar/Lead Vocals

Eric King has been playing in the Northern Virginia area since 1999, and had his first CD release entitled "The Game" during that period. "The Game" was a compilation of songs written and recorded with friends well known in the local DC music scene, "The Johnny Artis Band." With finished product in hand, Eric ushered in the first iteration of "Eric King And The Thin Line." Performing "The Game" locally (alongside blues covers). Between 1999 and 2002, Eric recorded his second CD "Shake These Blues". At this time, Eric was playing 10 to 15 gigs a month, and sprinkling in openers for some of his national artist favorites such as Johnny Winter, Leon Russell, Jeff Healey, Pat Travers and others. The band eventually dissolved up in 2005, no drama here. just a "break". But it was apparently a working break, as he managed to record a country release, "Thomas and King." While supporting his latest release, Eric began to play more country/blues gigs, and eventually joined a group out of L.A. called "The Gypsy Sons." The Gypsy Sons were a hard hitting rock band that just needed a little more blues. Eric eventually recorded three more CD's with TGS. So I guess one could say Eric's a sucker for a new tune and a recording studio. In early 2016, The Thin Line was reimagined with a new look and sound. So with a fresh new attitude and a pocket full of new ideas well... Who knows what's next?

Vinny Roth - Guitar

Vinny was born in Queens, NewYork, but migrated to Northern Virginia while still in junior high. He started his musical life with piano lessons at age 6, but soon switched to guitar after being inspired by Elvis movies and the opening riff to Aerosmith's "Walk this Way". Vinny continued to studied with several area guitar instructors through high school and college. He attended both NOVA and George Mason University, where he earned a music performance degree. Vinny has played and toured with numerous bands up and down the East Coast. Most recently, he has recorded with members of Frank Zappa's and Brian Setzer's bands, as well as Ron Holloway from Govt. Mule. Vinny currently teaches 40 plus guitar students weekly, and has written several articles for Guitar Player magazine. He also has 2 solo CDs out available via his site, vinnyroth.com. Vinny feels at home playing with Eric King and The Thin Line and loves the fit of the musicians and their musical personalities. According to Roth, "These cats hear what I feel, and can think on their feet, plus they are fun to groove with."
